Lancair Legacy FG
This Lancair legacy named “Lacy” holds a special place in the hearts of the Innovative Wings team. Sporting a Lycoming TIO-540 Twin turbo, cruising cross country or just a flight around the circuit is a blast in this little juggernaut!
Background
From our friends at Advanced Composite Structures in Winnepeg, this Legacy was only an airframe when it arived at our shop.
The Build
After putting in a TNIO 360, we quickly realized this was not nearly enough power, and after taking the owner for a flight, he agreed. Once the TIO 540 was installed, “Lacy” quickly became the favorite aircraft of Shane’s oldest daughter.
Achievements
Won first place in the 2017 Oshkosh Airventure cup for the experimental sport FX-T class, while haulling all the camping gear for staying the week!
